This page explains how to delete your account in the Scenza app
(package com.scenza) and which data will be deleted.
Details about data processing are available in our
Privacy Policy.
§1. Deleting your account in the app
- Sign in to the Scenza app.
- Open the Profile tab.
- Open Settings.
- Select Delete account. If your account has a password, enter it. For accounts without a password, such as those using Google or Apple login, enter the confirmation phrase indicated in the app.
Deletion is irreversible. For an Apple account, the app may request fresh authentication with the same Apple account before revoking access and deleting data. If revocation fails, deletion is not reported as complete; the account remains available for a retry or a request using the contact below.
If you have an active Premium subscription, deleting your account does not cancel its renewal. Manage the subscription in Apple App Store or Google Play settings.
§2. Deleting your account without access to the app
If you no longer have the app installed or cannot sign in, send an account deletion request to info@scenza.pl from the email address registered to your account. We may request information necessary to verify your identity. We will inform you of the action taken without undue delay and within one month of receiving your request. For complex matters, this may be extended by a further two months; we will explain the extension and its reasons within the first month.
§2a. Deleting some data without deleting your account
You can delete some of your data while keeping your account:
- In the app, you can remove perfume and note preference selections, wear diary entries, price alerts and your profile photo. You can change your gender selection, but the current form does not allow it to be left blank. To delete a saved date of birth, email us.
- By email, you can request deletion of specific data, such as visual search history, at info@scenza.pl. We will process the request without undue delay, normally within one month of receipt, in accordance with your rights under the GDPR (see our Privacy Policy).
§3. Data deleted with your account
When you delete your account, we remove associated data from the active database, including:
- fragrance preferences and perfume ratings;
- your scent profile and onboarding answers;
- wear diary entries, recommendation history and price alerts;
- photo-inspired recommendation history: results, scene descriptions, descriptors and the photo hash; this flow does not persist the original photo;
- profile details, including your name, avatar, date of birth and gender;
- social login links, notification device tokens, active sessions, and analysis and bonus usage data.
We remove identifying profile details, including the email address assigned to the profile, which can be used to register again. A limited technical record of the inactive account remains, including its identifier, creation and last-login dates, language and selected technical states. This record may still constitute personal data. Submitted EAN mappings remain in the catalogue after the author link is removed.
§4. Data retained for longer
Profile and account feature data are removed from the active database. Existing access-restricted backups rotate separately with 14-day retention; automatic object expiry may be delayed. Account deletion does not rewrite older copies. Deletion requests must be reapplied if a backup is restored.
Account references in transaction records are detached. Necessary accounting records, if generated, are retained only as required by law. Local server logs rotate by size limit; diagnostic data sent to Sentry has separate project retention settings. Data needed for an incident or claim may remain as long as necessary to handle it. Content already sent to the AI provider is also subject to its retention rules. See §7 of the Privacy Policy. Anonymous statistics that cannot be linked to an individual are not personal data.
